Let’s Journey Together

What I wish for you in 2024.

Clarity, but with a dash of comfort, because clarity often comes from pain.

Connection, first with your own wonderful self, and then with those you choose to have around you

Love. Big, big love. A tsunami wave of love that knocks you down and pulls you into the ocean and proves to you that you can swim.

Ferocity. Because you're tired of playing small, and we need you to roar.

Release. Take it from me, a perpetual white knuckler. Letting go is better than clinging. You know what 'it' is. We all have something that needs to be released.

But First, a Confession

I have no idea what's best for you. I am a licensed therapist and I don't have the answers for you.

But, for a long time, I believed that the way to make you trust me was to convince you that I had answers. I bought into the idea that you needed certainty in the form of blog posts like "Five Easy Steps to Conquer Anxiety!" or "You've Been Sleeping All Wrong -- Fix Yourself with 3 Simple Tools!"

I was lied to, and so were you. I can't offer the answers. While the advice is sound (mindful presence is definitely an incredibly powerful tool for mental health, and sleep is super important), it's not what I'm here to offer.

If reading a blog post that offers general tips for dealing with anxiety truly helps you to reduce your suffering, then you probably don't need to do the deep spiritual and emotional work that I am here to offer. And to be honest, I'm a little jealous of you.

Now it's time I get real with my offers, even if it means the algorithms ignore me.

The plan I have for my 2024 email newsletter is to start clarifying exactly what those offers are. While I will still be running my private practice, I'm really excited to branch out a bit too.

To start, a weekly reflection on topics that won't leave me alone.

Some of those planned topics are psychedelics and how we are integrating them into therapy, the power of nature on mental health, a deep dive into the history of therapy as we know it (warts and all), my newfound interest in astrology, anything and everything about cults and belief, the power of language in shaping our reality (fun fact: when I was in first grade I told anyone who would listen that I wanted to be an etymologist and probably some pop culture stuff (currently obsessed with all things Mike Flanagan and I'm not even a horror movie kind of girl but have you SEEN House of Usher?? Can we talk about it??)
